If you are looking for a hobby, or a way to de-stress but don't want anything to complicated, consider knitting!
You may have seen complicated looking sweaters, or those friends at work who have been knitting for years and show up with beautiful pieces and feel intimidated by those projects. Don't! You can get started with minimal materials, and instruction. I myself, over the years have learned many knitting techniques, but when it came to creating things I always tend to revert to simple and easy!
It might just be my stage of life, or I simply don't want anything to complicated. I came off the evening computer marathons so that I could sleep better, and I found that adding a hobby to those evening hours was the best thing I did. But if it was too complicated then I wouldn't feel relaxed as I do this hobby in the evening hours to relax and feel ready for sleep. So if you have been following my blog at all you will see many of the projects I have done or have found to do are pretty basic but don't look plain.
I learn best with visual aids such as with You Tube, or CD's or something with pictures! This kit includes everything for the beginner to get started and to take it one step at a time and enjoy this great relaxing hobby!
With this kit, you get to choose your colours, and everything you need for the project is in the kit including a CD.
Once you get the hang of it, you can create all kinds of knitted products for yourself or gifts, you are not restricted to scarves (although I have done a bunch of those!). Right now I am knitting squares that I will sew together for a pillow cover for my couch.
Learn the basics and simply have fun with this hobby. This kit is online and affordable and this way you have not invested a lot of money if you don't like it but I am sure you will like it! It would also make a great gift idea for anyone on your list this year.
Are You Intimidated by the Hobby Store?
Then getting a kit or supplies online is a good way if you don't feel comfortable in a hobby store. I remember going into a hobby store that had rows of yarn, wool, needles, and I didn't have a clue. Once you learn the basics you will also find that online offers a lot of variety!
My name is Diane and I love all arts and crafts including painting, drawing and knitting (I painted the bee above!) I decided after many years to take up knitting again and needed simple patterns that I could do while watching TV or listening to music that would help dial down stress. I hope you enjoy some of my own projects as well as ones I have found.
